The state of Goiás stands out due to a series of natural and strategic advantages that drive its economic and sustainable development. Geographically privileged, it is located in the heart of Brazil, facilitating logistics and connections with other states and regions. Its vast territory hosts a diverse climate suitable for various agricultural and livestock activities.
On the international stage, Goiás maintains robust trade relations, exporting a variety of products ranging from agricultural commodities to manufactured goods. Its rich fauna and flora, characterized by the unique biodiversity of the Cerrado biome, reinforce the importance of environmental preservation and ecotourism in the region.
In November 2023, the trade balance of the State of Goiás had a positive surplus of US$ 563 million, with export values (FOB) amounting to US$ 1.034 billion and imports totaling US$ 471 million.
The period analyzed was from September 2022 to August 2023. The growth was primarily driven by agriculture (16.5%), followed by services (3.6%) and industry (3.4%).
In Goiás, the production of anhydrous ethanol from sugarcane is expected to grow by 26.3% in the 2022/2023 harvest, reaching 1.2 billion liters. Meanwhile, the production of hydrated ethanol is expected to increase by 0.9% compared to the previous harvest, reaching 3.6 billion liters.
1st place in national production of nickel (38.1 thousand tons), vermiculite (16.3 thousand tons), and copper (252.8 thousand tons).
Goiás’ crops confirmed the record forecast and closed the 2022/2023 cycle with an estimated total production of 32.6 million tons of grains.
Goiás is the 4th largest pharmaceutical hub in Brazil, accounting for 3% of the national pharmaceutical industry and ranking as the 2nd largest producer of generic drugs.
